Personal Statement
Amanda Gerard is a certified genetic counselor in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. She cares for patients in the general Genetics outpatient clinic and is the genetic counselor for the Skeletal Dysplasia Program at Texas Children’s Hospital. Some of her primary roles include assisting with clinical evaluations, coordinating genetic testing and interpreting and explaining genetic test results to families.
Amanda is also involved in various research projects and publications related to rare diseases and participates in outreach work with multiple rare disease organizations. She is also a clinical supervisor for the Baylor College of Medicine Genetic Counseling Program.
