About
Dr. Emily Lawrence began her employment at Texas Children's Hospital as assistant professor in the division of cardiology in September of 2011. Her main interests include advanced cardiac and fetal imaging, echo lab quality improvement, inpatient cardiac care, as well as community cardiolgy.
Dr. Lawrence's current research involves the study of cardiac dysfunction in fetal lower urianry tract obstruction (LUTO), as well as clinical outcomes in patients with absent ductus arteriosus in tetrology of fallot. She is involved in the ongoing project to assess the effects of maternal hyperoxygenation in fetuses with hypoplastic left sideded structures. She has recently presented the largest case series to date on post natal outcomes of fetal ectopia cordis. Her manuscript on the efficacy of Fast Tracking in Congenital Heart Disease was recently published, and she is a member of the TCH study team involved in the National Pediatric Heart Network (PHN) Collaberative Learning Initiative on early extubation.
