Therapy Observations Suspension
NOTICE: We are implementing a new process change to our program. As a result, we are temporarily suspending all scheduled and upcoming Therapy Observations for individuals outside of our TCH organization and non-affiliated TCH personnel at all Texas Children's Hospital locations in Houston and the surrounding areas. It is the mission of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department to support the hospital’s mission by helping patients obtain their highest level of functional independence through education, therapeutic intervention, and research. This is accomplished by providing high quality rehabilitative care that is individualized and family-centered, timely, cost-effective and coordinated, for patients ages newborn – adult, with a variety of diagnosis and with respect to all patients’ rights, dignity, privacy, confidentiality and safety. The goal of an observation experience entails watching treatment sessions without patient contact.

You will be contacted for scheduling after your paperwork is received and you are cleared by Employee Health.
Due to the amount of requests we receive, we only allow up to 20 hours of outpatient observation hours.* Observation time is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
* If you need more than 20 hours, please contact Volunteer Services at 832-824-2263 regarding volunteer opportunities (six-month commitment required).
