The Colorectal and Pelvic Health Program at Texas Children’s Hospital is a multidisciplinary, comprehensive program caring for children with congenital or acquired conditions of the colon, rectum, and genitourinary tract.

Many congenital disorders of the colon and rectum are complex, involving the entire pelvis including the urinary tract, internal sex organs and genitals. Physicians from multiple disciplines must work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for these rare conditions. At Texas Children’s, our Colorectal and Pelvic Health Program is comprised of a team of highly skilled specialists from pediatric surgeryurologypediatric and adolescent gynecology, and gastroenterology, all working collectively to care for your child. Our bowel management team can help you manage your child’s fecal incontinence and soiling, so you and your child can achieve greater independence, emotional, and mental well-being.

Each treatment plan is customized to the individual needs of the child. We understand that needs change from infancy through childhood and adolescence, and we are committed to providing comprehensive care tailored to your child, every step of the way. Conditions treated include anorectal and cloacal malformations, hirschsprung disease, bladder and cloacal exstrophy, chronic idiopathic constipation, fecal incontinence and soiling.
