Make a Difference

The Promise Campaign will expand our care to more children, and offer comfort to the people who love them.

The Colorectal and Pelvic Health Program at Texas Children’s Hospital is a multidisciplinary, comprehensive program caring for children born with a disorder of the colon or rectum.

Many congenital disorders of the colon and rectum are complex, involving the entire pelvis including the urinary tract and internal sex organs and genitals. Physicians from multiple disciplines must work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for these rare conditions. At Texas Children’s, our Colorectal and Pelvic Health Program is comprised of a team of highly skilled specialists from pediatric surgeryurologypediatric and adolescent gynecology, and gastroenterology, all working collectively to care for your child. Our bowel management team can help you manage your child’s fecal incontinence and soiling, so you and your child can achieve greater independence, and emotional and mental well-being.

Each treatment plan is customized to the individual needs of the child. We understand that needs change from infancy through childhood and adolescence, and we are committed to providing comprehensive care tailored to your child, every step of the way. Conditions treated include imperforate anus, hirschsprung disease, cloacal malformation, cloacal exstrophy, fecal incontinence and soiling.
