Joining you on your autism spectrum disorder journey

At the Texas Children’s Hospital Autism Program, we understand the challenges and joys of raising a child on the autism spectrum. We’ve designed a unique program so you can easily access the services you need to help your whole family thrive. Your child will receive an individualized treatment plan with referrals to the Texas Children’s network of specialists, including medical subspecialists, social work, speech/language pathology, physical and occupational therapy, audiology and other services as needed.

Putting you on the road to success

Our unique Road Map Model is designed to help you get the answers you need in the most efficient way possible. From the moment your child is placed on the waiting list to see a medical provider, you’ll have access to our educational workshops that connect you with our specially trained social workers so that you can find the most appropriate community resources for your child. After seeing a psychologist or developmental pediatrician, you may be referred to other medical specialists and will have access to more educational workshops offering opportunities to meet other families in similar situations, information about what your child’s diagnosis means for his or her future and contact information for additional community resources.

We want you to leave our program with the assurance that you understand your child’s diagnosis and can meet his or her needs. If you have questions in the meantime, we’ve answered some frequently asked questions.
