Understanding the role of the microbiome (microbes that inhabit the human body) in disorders of aspiration and swallowing dysfunction.
- Improving the diagnosis of tracheomalacia.
- Improving the quality of care for patients with aerodigestive disorders.
- Developing biomarkers for microaspiration.
