
Conferences Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Quality and Safety Conference

The PHOQS Leader Award was established in 2024 to formally recognize excellence in quality and safety activities in pediatric hematology-oncology. The award provides $5,000 in funding for leaders to support quality and safety activities, presentations, and a lectureship at the PHOQS conference. Up to two awards will be presented annually.
Applicant eligibility
- Open to all medical professionals (individuals or teams), including MD, DO, APP, RN, PharmD and quality specialist roles
- Applicants must be engaged in pediatric hematology-oncology quality and safety projects that they actively designed, conducted and assessed
- Applicants must be committed to a career that includes advancing the field of quality and safety in pediatric hematology-oncology
Applicants must demonstrate institutional/division leadership in quality and safety activities
How to apply
Send the following application package to Florence Noel (fxnoel@texaschildrens.org) by February 3, 2025:
- Summary of the quality/safety project, including specific aims, measures and project timeline (5-page limit; references excluded)
- Curriculum vitae
- Statement of career goals (2-page limit)
Awardees will be selected based on their applications along with an assessment of their quality and safety contributions. The award is presented by Texas Children’s Cancer & Hematology Center.

Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center is offering a Conference in Quality and Safety. The goal of the conference is to advance a culture of integrated quality improvement in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, provide a forum to share and discuss ongoing initiatives, and foster collaborative work in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology quality and safety. The symposium will feature keynote speakers and a poster session.
This CME activity is directly provided by Texas Children's Hospital. This CNE is jointly provided by Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine.

Abstract Submission
All conference attendees are encouraged to submit abstracts and present a poster during the conference. High scoring abstracts will be selected for oral presentation in one of the four sessions: Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, and General Operations. However, all abstract topics are encouraged.
The poster session will be on November 8, 2024 from 11:45pm to 1:00pm.
