Get to know Virginia "Ginger" Depp Cline, PhD, ABPP
Dr. Cline is a pediatric psychologist who specializes in assessing and treating youth with acute medical needs including accidental injuries, surgery demands, limb differences and pre-liver transplant status. She utilizes evidence-based practices including cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure-based treatment, parent management training, among others, while maintaining an individualized treatment approach. In addition to her clinical focus, she maintains a strong role within education from her direct work with trainees to her leadership role in coordination of training seminars and continuing education needs for the Psychology Service. Dr. Cline enjoys opportunities to provide education and consult with multidisciplinary team members.
Personal Statement
I am an evidence-based trained pediatric psychologist with a school psychology background who focuses on acute health conditions/adjustment. I enjoy working within inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary medical teams to provide wraparound care for diverse patients. I value partnering with diverse patients and families to best understand their strengths and needs prior to providing targeted recommendations and interventions to support them across multiple systems including the hospital, home, and schools. I also value my educational role supervising and mentoring psychology interns and fellows along with participating in educational experiences for and consulting with medical and other specialties across the medical system.
