Get to know Terri Lynn Woodard, MD
Dr. Terri L. Woodard holds a joint appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Baylor College of Medicine and the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, she has a specific interest in fertility preservation for reproductive age individuals diagnosed with cancer. She offers fertility counseling prior to cancer treatment, as well as comprehensive fertility preservation and family-building services for men and women whose reproductive potential may or may have been impacted by cancer or its treatment.
Prior to her fellowship training at the Wayne State University School of Medicine and Detroit Medical Center, she was a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Women's Reproductive Health Research Scholar.During this time, Dr. Woodard studied physiologic measures of sexual function in women.Her current research interests include exploring how measures of ovarian reserve change with cancer treatment, as well as the psychosocial aspects of oncofertility, including how people make decisions about future options for parenthood. She is a recipient of the Duncan Family Institute Seed Funding Award as well as the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Young Investigator Award.
Dr. Woodard is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). She previously served as the Chair of the Sexuality Special Interest Group of the ASRM.She also serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, as well as a reviewer for several journals including Fertility and Sterility, the Journal of Sexual Medicine and the Journal of Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology.
