Get to know Stella U. Kalu, MD
Stella came to Texas a decade ago, after a journey that started in Nigeria and took her through pediatric residency training in Wisconsin. She completed a Pediatric infectious disease fellowship at UTMB- Galveston and then went on to join a private group as a pediatric hospitalist in North Houston, working on the pediatric floor and in a Level 1 nursery. Joining the section of Neonatology at BCM to work as a newborn hospitalist at Houston Methodist West gives her an opportunity to continue her true passion for working with newborns, being an advocate for newborns and their parents and delving deeper into the infectious disease issues and policies that pertain to neonates. Her clinical and research interests include perinatal infectious diseases and their impact on newborn care and breastfeeding.
