Get to know Samantha Kuypers, PA-C
Samantha chose to pursue pediatric medicine after volunteering for a non-profit summer camp that serves children whose parent has been diagnosed with cancer. This not only made her value building relationships with children and families, but also helped her see the importance of empowering children during difficult experiences. While completing the Texas Children’s PA Surgical Fellowship, she was particularly attracted to urology for its multidisciplinary approach to medical and surgical management.
She recognizes that many topics in pediatric urology can be uncomfortable to discuss, but it’s important to her that patients and families feel comfortable sharing their concerns. It is her goal that they leave each encounter understanding the diagnosis and treatment plan, despite their complexity.
Samantha enjoys exploring local coffee shops and bookstores with her fiancé and senior bichon mix, Gizmo.
Clinical Interests
Conditions that she commonly treats include: daytime or nighttime wetting, foreskin problems, testicular problems, urinary tract infections, and dysfunctional voiding. She also works closely with the Spina Bifida Program to manage neurogenic bladder.
