Dr. Akter is a board-certified pediatrician with a specialty in the Primary Care LEAD Program (Leaders Evaluating and Addressing Disparities). He is passionate about delivering excellent medical care to all his patients and advocating for children of all ages and backgrounds. He aspires to create a collaborative environment to deliver valuable guidance for families and serve as a physician role model for medical trainees.

Personal Statement

I look forward to fully utilizing my training and background in community health promotion to provide an exemplary medical home and establish long-term relationships with my patients and families. I have developed particular interests in obesity (nutrition and physical fitness), mental/behavioral health, safety promotion, patient education and taking care of children with chronic medical conditions. In my spare time, I enjoy playing basketball, travelling and spending time with my wife and son.
