Get to know Priscila P. Reid, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CPNP-AC
Priscila Reid has been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) in the Texas Children's Heart Center since 2006. She is board certified as both an acute care PNP and a family nurse practitioner. Priscila’s clinical practice focuses on caring for children with heart disease, both within the inpatient and outpatient settings. Priscila has built an extensive network of referring health care providers for patients with common cardiac concerns, such as murmurs, chest pain, syncope, palpitations, abnormal cardiac testing and family history of cardiac disease.
Priscila is also an associate professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) and facilitated a partnership between TTUHSC and Texas Children’s Hospital for the development of the acute care PNP program. She continues to serve as the partnership liaison. Her passions and interests include training, educating and mentoring advanced practice providers (APPs), as well as APP professionalism and communication, PNP program curriculum development and advanced practice registered nurse legislative advocacy.
Personal Statement
My philosophy of care centers on providing holistic, compassionate, safe and effective care to my patients and their families. As a pediatric nurse practitioner, improving a child’s health and wellness while incorporating the family is very important. The care I deliver centers around extensive education, research, experience and collaboration with other expert health care providers. My passion in caring for children and their families brings me great joy and gratitude. Being a source of comfort and guidance for them is a privilege and something I truly cherish.
