Dr. Patrick Delaplain is a surgeon at Texas Children's Hospital who provides care in all aspects of neonatal and pediatric surgery. His specific clinical interests are in colorectal conditions of childhood and adolescence (e.g., Hirschsprung’s Disease), congenital anorectal and pelvic malformations, and diseases of the esophagus and airway. Board certified in critical care, he is also dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care for critically ill children with complex conditions. Dr. Delaplain has an extensive research background with experience in outcomes research, basic science, large database studies, metanalyses, systematic reviews and multi-center trials. He has a special interest in infections as they relate to surgical diseases, trauma and diseases of the critically ill.
Personal Statement
I am passionate about providing individualized care for each patient through a multidisciplinary approve, including collaboration with parents and colleagues. I also want to strive to improve patient outcomes through research.
