Get to know Nicole Melfi, PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS
Personal Statement
Nicole Melfi is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and former inaugural sports resident at Texas Children's Hospital. She is the Sports Residency Coordinator at the West Campus. Nicole completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Marquette University. She is also a certified athletic trainer, certified strength and conditioning specialist, and holds a certification in the GRASTON technique. Nicole is currently completing her fellowship through OPTIM Manual Therapy. Additionally, she is active within Texas Children's Hospital Sports Medicine research team for establishing new research projects and continuing current studies.
Nicole believes in incorporating a combination of manual therapy techniques, loaded exercise, movement re-training for return to daily activities and sport. She is passionate about injury prevention for athletes of all ages with experience from youth to collegiate athletics.
In her free time, Nicole enjoys cooking and staying active with weight training, running, and yoga.
