Ms. Wood believes in care that incorporates all eight dimensions of wellness — physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, vocational, financial and environmental — to enhance and maintain quality of life. “I believe that an essential role of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is to promote patients’ ability to meaningfully engage in their communities and participate in activities that bring them joy,” she says. “This is accomplished by partnering with patients and their families to address, minimize, or overcome the barriers they face as the result of illness or injury.”
