Dr. Mar Gil is a consultant in Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine, currently based in Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. She has dedicated more than a decade to advancing prenatal diagnosis and therapy, with a strong focus on fetal imaging, pregnancy complications, and personalized care.
She is vice president and founder of the iMaterna Foundation, where she leads research, education, and training initiatives in maternal and fetal health. Internationally recognized for her scientific contributions, she is an active member of collaborative research networks and a frequent invited speaker at major conferences.
Her academic work encompasses leadership in multicenter trials, mentorship of doctoral candidates, and publications on first-trimester screening, fetal growth restriction, maternal cardiovascular function, and innovative digital health approaches. Dr. Mira combines clinical excellence with research leadership, aiming to improve outcomes for mothers and babies worldwide.

Personal Statement
I am deeply committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to women and their families throughout pregnancy. My philosophy of care is centered on partnership: I listen carefully, respect each woman’s individual needs, and work collaboratively to design a personalized plan that promotes the best outcomes for both mother and baby.
Beyond my clinical work, I am passionate about advancing maternal and fetal health through research, innovation, and teaching. I believe that improving care requires not only the latest medical knowledge, but also empathy, communication, and trust.
Outside of medicine, I value spending time with my children, who remind me daily of the importance of family. I also enjoy traveling, sports, and connecting with communities dedicated to supporting women’s health worldwide.
