Get to know Maarten Lequin, MD, PhD
I want to be the essential link between the referring physician and the patients and their families. Radiology gives me the opportunity to be the spider in the web and provide high-quality service to ultimately give the best possible care to the patients and their families.
In my spare time, I love to go out on my bike, enjoy playing tennis and padel. If I have time, I will go out sailing. Finally, I am a family man, proud of my spouse and (grand) children.
Dr. Lequin is an accomplished medical practitioner and researcher with an international background. Since 2000, Dr. Lequin’s clinical work and research focused on using neuro-imaging techniques on adolescents and children, including premature babies. Since 2015, he has devoted himself to researching neuro-oncology imaging. His primary clinical interests include all aspects of neuroradiology, body imaging, oncology imaging and fetal imaging.
Dr. Lequin has been trained in Erasmus Medical center in Rotterdam as a resident in Radiology in the early 90s. He did his pediatric radiology fellowship between 1996 and 1998 at Sophia Children’s Hospital, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In 1999, he did a fellowship at UCSF, San Francisco, where Dr. A.J. Barkovich was his mentor.
