Get to know LaKeisha Cotton, LPC
LaKeisha Cotton is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has a wealth of experience in various clinical settings. Her experience includes working with youth and families in the foster care and adoption system, underserved populations, inpatient psychiatric care and crime victims. While treatment is unique to each individual, LaKeisha utilizes evidence-based practices, including behavior analysis, cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy, to instill hope by reframing maladaptive, distorted thought patterns and fostering positive coping skills.
I find joy in helping others find hope in the midst of their pain. I believe that healing happens within the context of relationships, and I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment that encourages patients to gain awareness of themselves. I am passionate about meeting patients and families where they are, and I believe that all people have within themselves the capacity for growth, change and positive thinking.
