Get to know Judith A. Becker, MD
With expertise in fetal cardiology as well as transthroacic and transesophogeal echocardiography, I have devoted my practice over more than 20 years to family centered care of the fetus and child with a congenital cardiac defect or acquired heart disease. I place an emphasis with my patients and their families on problem focused education and on individually tailored assistance in navigating through the complex of services they need and use within the medical system and out in their community.
Over my career I have also been dedicated to teaching medical residents and fellows, as well as nurses and sonographers the various aspects and techniques of fetal and pediatric echocardiography.
Beyond my regular clinical practice, I travel with a team of medical volunteers to under severed countries where we provide diagnostic and surgical care for children with debilitating cardiac defects. Most recently that has entailed yearly missions to Kumasi Ghana where we are educating a team of committed local cardiologists and a surgeon with the hope that they will one day soon be able to manage many of their patients independent of our support. I have participated in Rotary International's Gift of Life program and have been named a Paul Harris Fellow for work devoted to bring children from underserved nations here to the US for surgery.
