Personal Statement
The benefits of a physically active life for a given child or teen may include success in competitive sports, personal achievement, comradeship with teammates, opportunities for friendship, or a means of staying fit or dealing with stress. Whatever the youngster's motivations, my commitment to them is to return them to full activity as quickly as possible, bringing to bear years of training and study, using the latest diagnostic techniques, and creating an individual treatment plan based in the best available sports science. In my clinical practice I care for Olympic athletes, elite high school and collegiate athletes, dancers, musicians, youngsters simply wanting to be fit, children who just want to play, and youngsters recovering from serious illness yearning to be active again. In my mind, every child is an athlete. My special interests include injuries associated with lack of dynamic stability in the knee, concussions, and promotion of physically active lifestyles.
