Dr. Shiau believes that the best care should incorporate a combination of evidence-based medicine, empathy for the child, and a global perspective of the underlying issues at hand. He approaches every patient with this philosophy, with the knowledge that each interaction is an opportunity to make a positive change in the patient’s life. He prioritizes open communication and understanding of each child’s needs as highly important to successful clinical care.
Clinical Interests
Caring for children with GI and liver disease, with a particular interest in infantile cholestatic liver disorders; pre- and post-pediatric liver transplant care.
