Get to know Gabriella Gonzales, MD, FAAP, CLC
Dr. Gabriella Gonzales is constantly impressed by the resilience of children and their excitement for embracing life. She feels that parents truly know their children best and she advocates for them to take a role in the management plan for their children.
Dr. Gonzales also believes that exercise can be one of the best forms of medicine. After her training in General Pediatrics, she chose to pursue an additional fellowship in Sports Medicine. As a lifelong athlete and former Division 1 collegiate runner, she enjoys all the health benefits of regular physical activity. During her fellowship she was exposed to the full spectrum of pediatric-focused sports medicine including diagnostic and therapeutic musculoskeletal ultrasound, concussion management, and fracture care. She worked with dieticians, physical therapists, and pediatric rheumatologists to understand how to address the entirety of an athlete’s needs. She provided game coverage for high school football, college football, college basketball and local wrestling, biking, and Special Olympics events.
She combines her talents in Pediatric Primary Care and Pediatric Sports Medicine and is excited to provide both services to her patients. She is also able to be a means of support for breastfeeding mothers as a Certified Lactation Counselor.
Personal Statement
I am originally from Austin, but I have spent most of my life in the Midwest. I am excited to get to know my “new” city and I have already enjoyed running the various trails around Austin and finding local parks to explore. I especially love finding places to watch my two favorite college football teams – Notre Dame and The Texas Longhorns.
