Get to know Farrukh R. Virani, MD
During his training, Dr. Farrukh Virani developed interests in pediatric airway surgery, pediatric head and neck tumors, sinonasal diseases, as well as complex sleep medicine. He has shared his knowledge in several peer-reviewed publications, ongoing contribution to two book chapters and additional projects.
In addition, Dr. Virani has an interest in teaching and engaging in the process of resident and medical student education as well as designing resident curriculum.
Beyond clinical practice, he has a strong interest in using the humanities and policymaking to breed empathy and tolerance, as well as working towards improving the national health care system and access to care.
Dr. Virani is also currently completing a master of public health degree at the Harvard T.H. Chan School with the goal of advancing policy work for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
Personal Statement
I believe in a patient-centered approach to care centering on empathy for the child and family, evidence-based applications of medicine and surgery, and focus on the patient as an individual. My goal is to always combine these elements to understand the unique physical and emotional needs of each patient and their families to ultimately promote the health and well-being of each patient. These core values guide me in my clinical practice to ensure I am able to provide exceptional care to all of my patients.
