Dr. Esther Yang, DDS, is the Chief of Service for dentistry and a full time pediatric dentist at Texas Children's Hospital. Dr. Yang received her dental training at New York University College of Dentistry where she concentrated her studies on pediatric and special needs patients. Upon graduation, she specialized in pediatric dentistry at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center and was appointed Chief Resident. Dr. Yang is also a board certified member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
After practicing in New York as a private practitioner and assistant clinical professor, Dr. Yang returns home to Houston to provide care to pediatric patients with special needs such as autism, cleft lip and palate, craniofacial abnormalities, and medically compromised. As a member of the cleft and craniofacial team Dr Yang helps treat patients born with a variety of facial abnormalities including, cleft lip and palate, hemifacial microsomia, Crouzon Syndrome, Pierre Robin, and a variety of other abnormalities. Treating these patients in a team-centered approach allows optimal treatment results as professionals from plastic surgery, speech pathology, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, otolaryngology, and several other specialties can coordinate and optimize each step of treatment.
