Personal Statement

I am a native of Augusta, Georgia and come to Texas Children’s after being an outreach athletic trainer at Prisma Health in Columbia South Carolina for 4 years. While at Prisma I served as the Head Athletic Trainer for a 2A Highschool, Head Athletic Trainer for a Division 2 College and a supplemental athletic trainer for 4A high schools and middle schools.

I enjoy working in the outreach setting because it allows a closer relationship between patients and providers that fosters good communication and great patient outcomes.

I earned a B.S. degree in Athletic Training from Valdosta State University in 2016 and an M.S. degree in Exercise Science with a focus on sports management from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. While perusing my M.S. I worked as a graduate assistant at Sam Houston State University and was the secondary athletic trainer for the Men’s and Women’s Track and field teams.

I am a current member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), and also maintain my Massage Therapy License (LMT).
