Personal Statement
My philosophy as an athletic trainer is centered around taking care of patients as human beings first and their injury second. With this approach, I believe I am able to treat my patients holistically by taking into account a patient’s mental, physical and emotional needs that come with being injured. This allows me to build trust with my patients and leads to creating a plan of care together that best fits my patient's needs. I also believe that knowledge is power. I feel it is my responsibility to educate my patients and supply them with as much information as possible. By doing so, I believe it can improve a patient's commitment to recovery as they are able to fully understand their injury.
