Dr. Emily Aven is a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) with a lifelong love of movement, wellness, and people. She studied Spanish and sports medicine at Pepperdine University, and then she started teaching yoga to adults and children. She received her DPT at the University of the Incarnate Word prior to completing an orthopedic residency in Houston, TX at Harris Health System. She practiced travel physical therapy in Hawaii and Virginia, and is happy to be back practicing in her home city of Houston at The Women’s Pavilion at Texas Children’s Hospital. She loves supporting people through various phases of life by helping ease their pain and problem solving ways to add in supportive movement to their busy lives. Throughout all of her training and working it is physical movement, particularly yoga, acrobatics, and aerials that keep her feeling her best, and she loves helping others meet their physical goals for overall well-being, too.
