Dr. Diaz Chambers is a physician scientist interested in metabolic health, obesity, and how the brain helps to coordinate appetite and metabolism. He joined Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's in 2026. His previous research studies include mechanisms of how GLP-1 agonist medications work in the brain and novel genetic conditions that cause obesity to understand how cells translate their mechanical environment into genetic programs.
Dr. Diaz Chambers is a native of Nashville, TN and was a long-time resident of Atlanta and Boston before moving to the Houston area.
Personal Statement
I believe that we live in a very challenging and very hopeful time with respect to our metabolism and health. My focus is on providing compassionate, high-quality care to children with endocrine diseases and on pushing forward the boundaries of what we know to help continue to improve this care.
