Dr. Chioma O. Nwakanma is a double board-certified Pediatrician and Pediatric Cardiologist dedicated to delivering exceptional, compassionate care to children and families. Known for her deep-rooted commitment to humanistic patient care, she strives to achieve excellent patient outcomes while ensuring a positive and individualized patient experience. She believes that exceptional care is defined not only by clinical outcomes, but also by how patients and their families feel throughout their health care journey.
As a committed patient advocate, Dr. Nwakanma actively champions patient literacy and patient-centered care. She seamlessly integrates the "teach-back" method into every clinic visit, eliminating gaps in knowledge and empowering families to confidently manage their child's health.
Dr. Nwakanma’s clinical expertise includes congenital heart disease, preventative cardiology, diagnostic evaluation and arrhythmias.
Personal Statement
As a pediatric cardiologist, my primary mission is to guide patients and their families through the complexities of a potentially challenging cardiac diagnosis. My utmost priority is the well-being of the children in my care and the families who support them. I view my role not merely as a physician, but as a dedicated clinical advocate, a reliable support system and a health care educator. Committed to achieving excellent clinical outcomes, I anchor my practice in evidence-based medicine and integrate the latest advancements in pediatric cardiology into my clinical decision-making.
Outside of my clinical practice, I treasure time spent with my family and enjoy traveling, preparing nutrient-dense meals and participating in low-impact athletic activities.
