Chinky Patel, MD

Dr. Chinky Patel is a Pediatric Radiologist at Texas Children's Hospital who practices all aspects of general pediatric radiology, focusing on providing accurate diagnostic imaging for infants, children and adolescents. Dedicated to medical education, she is actively involved in teaching residents and fellows.

Personal Statement

Choosing a career in pediatric radiology allows me to combine my love for medicine with a genuine desire to advocate for children. My worldview was shaped early on by growing up in a vibrant, multicultural metropolis, a diverse environment that instilled in me a deep appreciation for unique perspectives and clear communication. Moving from that global foundation through comprehensive residency training in India and extensive fellowship specialization in Memphis, I have consistently focused on bridging clinical accuracy with an approachable, patient-centric methodology.

In the reading room and across clinical floors, my focus remains on transforming complex imaging data into clear, actionable guidance for medical teams. Serving as Chief Fellow during fellowship solidified my belief that the best outcomes are achieved when physicians prioritize clear dialogue and mutual support. I view my role not just as a diagnostician, but as an active partner to clinical colleagues and a reassuring presence for families navigating stressful moments.

My life outside of medicine provides the energy and perspective I bring to my clinical practice. I stay grounded through running, experimenting in the kitchen and maintaining a deep appreciation for creative expression from my early years in acting. Home life keeps me wonderfully busy, whether I am cheering on my husband at his comedy shows, walking our dog, or navigating the daily, unpredictable joys of raising a toddler. These personal dimensions keep me balanced and constantly remind me of the human element at the heart of health care.
