Personal Statement
Catherine Ivey, PsyD is a licensed psychologist at Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus, providing general mental health services in the outpatient setting. With a focus on children across the developmental age range, Dr. Ivey utilizes evidence-based approaches for the assessment and treatment of a variety of mental health concerns. Focal areas include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, interpersonal challenges, parent training and ADHD. She is passionate about taking a collaborative and holistic approach, recognizing the importance of families and the child's nuclear environment as it relates to their overall well-being.
From Dr. Ivey:
I am deeply committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care. Notable therapeutic interventions may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These approaches are supportive in cultivating meaning, self-awareness and developing new skills towards symptom improvement.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered, warm and flexible to consider my patients individual needs in treatment. I place high value on patient connection, collaboration and goal setting. My desire is to meet clients uniquely where they are at, welcoming and honoring them as a whole person. My patients’ well-being is my priority, and I consider it a joy and honor to dedicate my time to supporting patients navigate this journey of life.
