Personal Statement
When working with patients, it is essential to consider the individual as a whole and to include family goals and values as the driving force for treatment. My belief is that the family is the expert on truly knowing and understanding their child and I can serve as more of an enhancement to that firsthand knowledge. Overall, I strive to consistently demonstrate compassion and effective communication skills while creating a safe environment filled with endless energy and fun! I’m a strong believer that being an occupational therapist makes me a lifelong learner, as things are constantly evolving in the world of healthcare. I thrive off engaging in teamwork and believe that patient success is not just textbook or linear, but also defined by perceptions of both patient and family. My goal is to promote occupational performance and assist patients in living their life to the fullest by building upon the strengths that they possess.
