The motivation and fulfillment of performing at the prime level generates an incredible effect of growth as a person. The reflection generated by evaluating your performance including errors and gains, with colleagues, fellow anesthesiologist and students help all the members of the team become better professionals. Individuals who are successful respond in a more assertive way in their lives. In the last years that I have been teaching at Texas Children's Hospital I personally have learned more from my colleagues, fellows and residents than I have merely from books. Anesthesiologists teaching learners need to be a beacon of enthusiasm for learning.
