Brennan C. Lang, MD, FACOG is a Board-Certified Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin. He attained his Doctorate of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX and subsequently completed his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine, as well. He was Board-Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2021.
Dr. Lang’s specialty is general obstetrics and gynecology and his clinical interests include patient education, pregnancy care, contraception counseling, cervical dysplasia (Pap smear screening and treatment), and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including minimally invasive alternatives to hysterectomy.
Dr. Lang is passionate about simulation training for physicians and residents. During his residency he participated in a research study designed to develop a new Advanced Laparoscopic Skills Curriculum for physicians-in-training and continues his work in the BCM Simulation Lab training residents for their certification in the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery. Dr. Lang has been the Assistant Director of Simulation for Obstetrics and Gynecology for the BCM OB/GYN Residency Program and a Simulation Program Director for Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women since 2020. His focus is high acuity obstetric simulation and regularly facilitates simulation training for BCM residents and TCH hospital staff, including postpartum hemorrhage, massive transfusion protocol, vaginal breech delivery, shoulder dystocia, obstetric anal sphincter injury, hypertensive emergencies, and operative vaginal deliveries.
As an Assistant Professor, Dr. Lang is passionate about utilizing the most up to date evidenced-based medicine and prioritizing patient education. He believes that empowering patient autonomy allows his patients to make well-informed decisions about what is best for their own healthcare. Dr. Lang is currently accepting new patients.
