Armando G. Correa, MD

Armando G. Correa, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Academic General Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Correa received his medical degree from Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico, followed by his internship and residency training in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Austin and pediatric infectious disease fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. His research interests include periodic fever syndromes, vaccine safety, and immunization. He is certified in both pediatrics and infectious diseases by the American Board of Pediatrics and has authored more than 20 scientific articles and provides independent safety monitoring for clinical trials involving newer vaccines, such asH1N1 (2009) influenza and rotavirus.He is also collaborating in a study tovalidate a new biomarker of cell death in pediatric type 1 diabetes.
