Personal Statement
I chose Obstetrics and Gynecology because it gives me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with my patients while caring for them during some of the most significant moments of their lives. I love that this specialty allows me to care for women not only during pregnancy and childbirth, but also throughout their reproductive years and beyond.
I am especially passionate about maternal health and the work that is needed to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. I believe that every woman deserves to feel heard and respected, particularly during pregnancy and childbirth. I want to be an advocate for my patients and help ensure that differences in background, access to care, or other circumstances do not prevent someone from receiving the care they deserve.
My goal is to create a relationship with my patients built on trust, open communication, and mutual respect. I want every woman who sees me to feel comfortable asking questions, expressing her concerns, and knowing that her voice matters in her care.
