Get to know Alisa Ana Acosta, MD
As a pediatric nephrologist, I treat children and adolescents with all forms of kidney disease, but my clinical and research interest is in pediatric hypertension. When treating patients, I like to partner not only with the other physicians of a patient’s care team, but with the patient’s family. I believe that building the trust and connection with my patients and their families is an important element in the management of a patient’s chronic condition. I also have an interest in medical education and serve on the leadership team for the Pediatric Residency Program at Baylor College of Medicine/ Texas Children's Hospital. My main interest within the residency program is enhancing the mentorship provided by faculty to the residents as they progress through residency and on to their future career choices.
