In order to provide the best care to our patients, we must continue to identify best evidence to guide patient care. Measuring outcomes will improve surgeon’s outcomes, help patients make informed choices, and provide evidence for quality assurance of operations.
Tools used to measure outcomes for our cleft lip and palate patients include customized databases and documentation templates. Some of the measurements include surgical volume, office visit volume, patient types, re-admissions, and length of stay after surgery.
