HBJ: Texas Children's plans expansion at Lester and Sue Smith Legacy Tower

Texas Children’s Hospital plans to expand pediatric care space in the Texas Medical Center, according to a pair of Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings.

The hospital is planning a 12,400-square-foot expansion of its pediatric intensive care unit at the Lester and Sue Smith Legacy Tower, at 6651 Main St., one filing said. The build-out of the existing shell space is expected to cost $10.3 million and could start this August and wrap up in late 2027.
