Fox 26: Texas Children’s Leukemia Patient Lights the Tree at River Oaks Tree Lighting

Kicking off a merry and bright holiday season, 7-year-old Aijah lit the tree alongside Santa and Fox 26 reporter, Caroline Collins, at River Oaks District’s Holiday Tree Lighting. 

 Diagnosed with leukemia only three months ago, Aijah is officially in remission, but she will undergo two more years of chemotherapy. Now, she receives chemotherapy via a specialized medical backpack, allowing her to continually receive her medication while spending the holidays at home – and at fun events– with her family instead of in the hospital.
