CNRC Investigator Douglas Burrin Awarded NIDDKD Award
Douglas Burrin PhD, professor of pediatrics at the Children’s Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) has been awarded a $2.2 million training grant renewal from the NIH National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
Dr. Burrin is the principal investigator and director of the T32 Research Training in the Pediatrics Gastroenterology program, which will begin its 36th year of funding, with co-director Dr. Benjamin Shneider, professor and chief of the Pediatrics Department Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine.
The NIH T32 grant from the NIDDK funds institutional research training programs for predoctoral students and postdoctoral fellows (M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent). It supports future investigators in diabetes, endocrinology, metabolic diseases, gastroenterology, hepatology, obesity, and nutrition.
