Updates

Texas Children's is now serving Austin families with more than 20 locations offering pediatric, urgent care and specialty care services around the city -- and we're not stopping there. In February 2024, we'll open Texas Children's Hospital North Austin, a state-of-the-art top-tier hospital for children and women led by the finest pediatric and women's specialists in the nation.

Adult Volunteer Program

Texas Children’s is honored and humbled to be ranked as the best children’s hospital in Texas and among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. This recognition starts and ends with having an amazing team, including wonderful volunteers who help provide the best care possible to children and their families. It takes a team to heal a child, and Texas Children’s volunteers are an essential part of this effort.

Texas Children’s Volunteer Services assigns volunteer positions based on the hospital’s current needs and the volunteer’s availability, interests and skills. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and commit to serving a minimum of one, three-hour shift on the same day and at the same time each week for six months or longer. Please note we do not have any volunteer programming during the evening or weekend. All placements take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Be part of the first group to volunteer at Texas Children’s North Austin campus starting February 2024! As we open our doors, we are looking for compassionate and committed volunteers to fill any of the following open volunteer opportunities:

  • Welcome Desk – Provide a warm and welcoming environment for patients, families, and visitors. Assist patients and families with directions and wayfinding throughout the outpatient and inpatient buildings.
  • Tea Cart – Volunteers support Texas Children’s healthcare providers and staff by providing hot tea and an inspirational quote for the day. Volunteers work in teams and are assigned locations to visit throughout the hospital.

*More volunteer opportunities to come based on hospital needs*
