Pharmacy Residency Programs Pharmacy Residency Application Process

To apply for any of the Texas Children’s Hospital Pharmacy residency programs, the following must be completed and submitted through PhORCAS prior to the application deadline:

  • Letter of Intent: A typed letter describing your career goals and reasons for pursuing a residency at Texas Children’s Hospital 
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): An updated CV detailing your educational and professional experience
  • Transcript: An official transcript of coursework from your pharmacy school
  • Recommendation Forms: Three recommendation forms (letters are not required). At least one recommendation must come from a recent employer or manager, and another from a preceptor

Additional Requirements for PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency:

  • Applicants must also apply to the University of Houston College of Pharmacy by visiting the University of Houston Pharmacy MS Program homepage. Note that application deadlines may vary.
  • Sign up for and complete a PPS or pre-application interview prior to being offered an on-site (or virtual) interview.

Important Dates


  • Application Deadline: January 3, 2025. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. 
  • Unofficial Transcripts: Accepted at the time of application; however, pending official transcripts must be submitted via the portal.
  • Reference Forms: Encourage your references to complete their recommendations on time; late submissions of reference forms will not penalize the applicant.
  • Interview Offers: Extended in January following the application deadline. 
  • Residency Start Date: The residency begins on the first Monday in July.
