Personal Statement

Susanne Borkhuis has been treating lymphedema for seven years. She has a passion for helping clients achieve increased independence with their activities of daily living.

In addition to lymphedema, she also has a passion for treating various hand diagnoses as well as those with limb loss. She became a limb loss specialist after working with the military and treating clients with multiple limb loss deficits.

Susanne Borkhuis has always had a special interest in upper extremity diagnoses, but initially was drawn into lymphedema and vascular anomolies as a specialty when she worked for a cancer specialty hospital in the Houston area. 

She is a member of the Vascular Anomolies Center with an emphasis on lymphedema, range of motion and functional independence.
