Personal Statement
Lauren believes in a family centered treatment approach and works especially hard to establish an open line of communication with caregivers, explain individualized plans of care, and review treatment goals on a consistent basis. Empowering parents and caregivers by building their confidence to implement treatment strategies in their child’s home environment is crucial in order for infants and toddlers to achieve their individualized short and long-term goals.
Lauren has experience evaluating and treating children birth-18 years old in the outpatient hospital setting and adults in the outpatient, rehabilitation, and acute care hospital settings. She has experience evaluating and treating pediatric and adult populations in the following areas: language, speech, voice, cognition, pragmatics, and feeding/swallowing. Lauren is passionate about working with medically complex infants (birth-3 years of age) who demonstrate feeding and swallowing disorders.
Currently, Lauren evaluates and provides treatment for infants and children with feeding & swallowing disorders and is a team member of the Swallow Disorders Clinic and Aerodigestive Team.
Clinical Interests:
Lauren’s clinical interests include: infants and toddlers who demonstrate dysphagia post NICU and CICU stay, toddler feeding/swallowing disorders, upper airway disorders, pre-verbal language development, and expressive/receptive language delay.
