Personal Statement
My position as a Chaplain is to provide emotional and spiritual support to all patients/their families and staff here at Texas Children's Hospital. I believe that all persons are to be valued for who they are. I believe in treating others with respect, without judgment and with much grace and forgiveness. A hospital may be a stressful place to be and so at times people may need to express their feelings, be heard, allowed time to process what is going on or allowed to ask questions. I am here to listen more than to fix; to provide a space for exploring options rather than to tell people what they should do; to provide comfort in times of grief/loss rather than tell people how they should grieve. A person’s Faith tradition or beliefs are to be valued and honored, I am not here to impose my own tradition or beliefs on others.
