Alma has more than 25 years of experience in outpatient care with 7-plus years in the SOAR NICU follow-up clinic.
In addition to Board Certification in Pediatrics from the American Occupational Therapy Association, Alma holds certifications in the Sensory Integration Praxis Test, pediatric kinesio-taping, pediatric neuro-developmental treatment and neo-natal massage.
Additional areas of advanced training include autism, sensory-based feeding disorders, SOFFI infant feeding, torticollis, premature infant, and early childhood development and a Small Baby Care Specialist designation.
Alma is a validated Spanish provider. A special needs parent herself, Alma is involved in the local special needs community and is an advocate for special needs families. Alma serves as the therapy department’s community resource guide.
Personal Statement
I believe every child has a purpose in life and am personally driven to develop such purpose. I believe a child’s environment is critical in maximizing potential, and therefore I empower caregivers to become advocates in their own child’s development.
