Personal Statement
Amy Barbuto is a doctor of physical therapy and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy as recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Amy joined Texas Children’s Hospital in August 2013 in the outpatient physical therapy department where she specialized in working with infants and children with cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular diagnoses as well as complex congenital heart disease (ventricular assistive devices and heart transplants). In 2017, Amy transitioned her role to Texas Children’s Hospital - The Woodlands to help establish the Neuromuscular Gait Analysis Program at the Texas Children’s Hospital Motion Analysis Laboratory.
Amy enjoys utilizing cutting edge computerized 3D motion capture technology and evidence based research to help advance the care for children with neuromuscular gait impairments. Amy has a passion for working with children and their families and believes in providing every child with personalized attention to address their specific needs.
