Adult Volunteer Program
Texas Children’s is honored and humbled to be ranked as the best children’s hospital in Texas and among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. This recognition starts and ends with having an amazing team, including wonderful volunteers who help provide the best care possible to children and their families. It takes a team to heal a child, and Texas Children’s volunteers are an essential part of this effort.
Texas Children’s Volunteer Services assigns volunteer positions based on the hospital’s current needs and the volunteer’s availability, interests and skills. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and commit to serving a minimum of one, three-hour shift on the same day and at the same time each week for six months or longer.
At this time, we are not accepting new volunteers. Please visit our website in April 2023 to learn more about becoming a volunteer.
Junior Volunteer Program
Texas Children's Hospital Junior Volunteer Program is a great opportunity for high school students at least 15 years of age, to gain experience providing customer service and support to patients and their families in a Hospital setting. While we do not offer opportunities for clinical exposure and/or shadowing Hospital staff, Junior Volunteers will learn about the healthcare environment through certain assignments.
We are no longer accepting applications for the 2023 Summer Junior Program.
Please check this website in January 2024 for more information about volunteer opportunities for high school students.
